Border Patrol Agents Seize More Than 1,400 Pounds of Marijuana

U.S. Border Patrol agents in Arizona made two large busts this weekend, seizing over 1,400 pounds of marijuana.

On Saturday a car blew through a checkpoint and agents gave chase. The vehicle stopped suddenly, and three suspects jumped out and fled into the desert, where they were tracked down with helicopters. Agents found over 500 pounds of marijuana in the car.

The second bust occurred on Sunday in a similar way, except this time the suspects fled into the desert with their car. Agents found the car abandoned, with 56 bundles of marijuana totalling around 900 pounds.

All the marijuana seized will turned over to the D.E.A.
